Gym wear that gets you in gear
Don’t get me wrong, I really do enjoy working out. But sometimes your motivation starts to slip and you find yourself making excuses about why you can’t workout this day and why you can’t workout that day. It happens to the best of us! When I find that it starts happening to me, I head to the mall to get some new workout clothes. I would say at least 95% of the time it gets me back into the gym because I’m so excited about wearing them. This particular outfit is my most recent purchase.
My favorite part of this outfit is definitely the sports bra. Not only is it so amazingly comfortable but the back is such a fun focal point. Instead of your regular straps or razor back, you can see in the photo above that the back is made up of different elastic bands that hold everything in place. Plus you know I love me a good floral print. That paired with the teal just sets everything off.
So confession, I might have gotten this shirt simply because it was paired with the sports bra. The front has some generic saying, which is fine and dandy, but what I really love about this is the back of the shirt.
A good portion of the back is just open (showing off the back of the sports bra) and the sides are twisted. Like I said, this tank was paired with the sports bra and as soon as I saw them together I knew that I had to have both of them (good job Old Navy marketing team).
Since the teal from the tank/sports bra is such a vibrant and loud color, I usually pair it with some black workout pants. These have a white stripe that goes down the side which gives it an athletic Adidas feel. These pants also have two very cool features – the first is that it has pockets (!) which are great if you’re running and you need a place to put your key or your ID. Plus pockets are just fun in general. The second is that there is mesh paneling at the bottom of the legs so the black gets broken up by your natural skin color popping through. I know that mesh is super popular right now with workout pants and I am definitely a fan.
What is one of your favorite tanks to workout in? Do you go for color or keep it classic with white or black? Does it have a saying or design on it?
