July beauty favorites

So is it just me or did July literally fly by? I can’t believe it’s already the end of the month and time for my current favorites!

july favorites

Quick list:

Lush moisturizer

Real talk? My skin gets dry. Like really dry. Like painfully dry. So I can assure you that I’ve tried my fair share of moisturizers. The problem I have with a lot of them is that they leave my skin feeling clogged. Like even if I have a non-makeup day I can feel a heaviness on my face. So one day I went into Lush with one goal – find a moisturizer that doesn’t feel cakey after applying but also can do its job. I left with Celestial. Every day I put some on my face after I shower (when my pores are all nice and open) and it leaves my skin feeling so soft. The best part? You don’t even need that much so it lasts forever!

bath and body works body wash

I love Bath and Body Works (who doesn’t?) but you can only have so many lotions before it gets to be a bit much. Thankfully you can never have enough shower gel and it’s the one thing I always make sure to stock up on during their sales. This particular one I got for Christmas and while I’d never heard of this scent before, turns out I love it. It’s got some floral notes to it but it’s not sickly sweet. It’s a subtle floral that’ll leave you smelling amazing the rest of the day.

open rimmel london lip balm

I think we all know how easy it is to buy a chapstick, lose a chapstick, buy a chapstick, find a chapstick, and lose it again. But guys, I’m actually using this one on the regular – to the point that I might even use it all up! How many times has that actually happened? I fully admit that part of the appeal is the look – they packaged it like an actual lipstick. For some reason, I feel like that makes it easier for my brain to keep tabs on it. Plus turns out the product is actually a really nice balm that both conditions and moisturizes my lips. It’s a win win!

mellow lipstick nude open

I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge lipstick fan. I don’t know why but I feel like it always wears off too fast and then I look weird, and I am just always self-conscious when I’m wearing it. But I want to change that. I want to be a lipstick girl! So I’ve been forcing myself to wear it more and this particular one has quickly become a go-to. The color is a very subtle nude-rose, but not so subtle that you can’t tell I’m wearing something. This works great because when it does start to fade throughout the day, it isn’t as noticeable. Perfect for a day at work or night out on the town.

shimmer eyeshadow

It might be hard to tell by this photo (I swatch it in the image below) but this color is so beautiful! It adds the perfect amount of shimmer to your lid – just enough to be noticeable but not so much that you look like a sixth grader who just discovered glitter eyeshadow. Golds and bronzes have always been my favorite color when it comes to shadow (I read once that it compliments blue eyes the best) and this bronze was right up my alley! One thing about it though is that you definitely need to put a primer down before the shadow, otherwise it does tend to wear off. But I love the color so much that I can deal 😉
