Ipsy October glam bag beauty review
I admit, I was a little nervous when I first signed up for Ipsy. I did a lot of comparing beforehand between different beauty subscription boxes, trying to find the best bang for my buck. Finally I decided it was time to just take the plunge and sign up. And I am glad I did! I think I can easily say that this month has been one of my favorite months when it comes to products!
For those of you who might not know, Ipsy is a beauty subscription service. For only $10 a month you get a makeup bag with 5 different goodies in it! These range from skin care to hair care, travel size to full size, drugstore brands to more expensive ones. If you’re looking for a way to treat yo self, I highly recommend this one.

Now let’s get to business! A quick glance at this month’s products:
- Urban Decay: 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in Perversion
- Tarte: Deluxe lifted sweatproof mascara
- Marc Anthony: Hydrating coconut oil & shea butter oil treatment
- Hey Honey: Trick and Treat active propolis cream concealer
- Doucce: Freematic highlighter in Solstice
I may or may not have let out a little squeal when I saw this eyeliner in my bag. I am a huge Urban Decay fan and see their 24/7 glide-on eye pencil all over their social media accounts. Usually, my liner consists of black eye shadow put on with an angled brush. I’m not a huge fan of the super intense black that comes with liquid liner (my eyes are not the right shape to pull off winged liner) but I’m always willing to give pencils a try. This one went on fantastic! I used my angled brush to blend it out a bit and it lasted amazingly throughout the entire day!
You guys know how obsessed I am with Too Faced’s Better Than Sex mascara. Well, I think it may have some competition. When it comes to mascara, my biggest issue is a product that weighs my lashes down and makes them feel heavy. This doesn’t do that at all! Not only does it keep your lashes from looking spidery, it helps lengthen, thicken, and lift. Perfect!
So I think we can all agree on how damaging winter is to your hair. Between the super dry, cold air and the heat that comes from blow drying and styling, this season is not friendly to your locks. Marc Anthony coconut oil treatment to the rescue! After showering, I simply put a couple of drops into my hands and work it through my damp hair. This helps strengthen and nourish. It’s the perfect thing to help with damaged ends!
I literally just got a new concealer a couple of weeks ago, so I wasn’t super mega excited to see another one in my bag. But I’m always down to try something new. To start off, this color definitely didn’t match my skin tone. If I was getting this in a store, I would have gone a shade or two lighter. The other big thing I noticed is that the formula is pretty thick. Especially when compared to the Born This Way concealer I’ve been using. It did feel pretty light on the skin though and was surprisingly moisturizing. Overall not my favorite, but I made it work.
I’ve been loving trying out different highlighters so seeing this was right up my alley. While I personally prefer a cream highlighter over a powder highlighter (I just feel like they show up easier), this one seemed to work okay. It looks pretty pigmented in the packaging, but it did take a bit to build up and become noticeable. It was a lovely shade once it did show up. Personally, I would reach for my other highlighters before this one but I don’t hate it.
While there were some duds this month, the other products more than made up for those and made for a great October glam bag!
