7 songs to get you moving – pt. 2

We all know how it goes – you hear a song that you like, you listen to it 10 million times, it gets on the radio and you hear it 10 million more times, and then you eventually need to take a break. It’s not you song, it’s me. This literally happens to me all the time so I’m constantly looking for new songs to swap in and out of my playlists.

It’s been almost a year (wow!) since my 7 workout songs to get you motivated post and I’m finally back with more! While I still love the songs that were listed in the original post and highly recommend them, it’s definitely time to get some new jams up in here.

The theme of this playlist is girl power. Whether you’re listening before work, while getting ready for a girl’s night, or on your way to the gym, these ladies will help you find the motivation you need to kick some serious butt.

  1. Make me feel – Janelle Monae
Janelle Monae came out with a new album this year called Dirty Computer. It. Is. Amazing. I’m not really an album kind of gal, usually just listening to singles. But you can bet this entire album is on my computer. And this song, in particular, is gold. Interesting fact – she collaborated with Prince on this song/album before his passing.
  2. I Like It – Cardi B
Ever since Bodak Yellow came out it seems like Cardi has literally been everywhere. Somehow between being featured on a ton of different songs and also being pregnant, she managed to release this particular bop. We often dance to this during my Werq class and it always gives me that second push I need.
  3. Good As Hell – Lizzo
You are a strong and independent woman, and you don’t need a man in your life to make you happy. If there’s ever a time when you need reminding of this, read this blog and blast this song.
  4. Salute – Little Mix
With the rise of Fifth Harmony, it seems like Little Mix was never able to truly get the breakthrough they deserve in the States. But they have so many good songs. Including this particular anthem. Giving me serious Destiny’s Child vibes (see below), this is a top listen if you’re ever feeling anything less than confident.
  5. Lifted – CL
Lately I’ve been getting into more and more K-Pop and this is a perfect example of it. CL has multiple songs out that I love (also check out Hello Bitches) but Lifted just takes the cake. It has such a laid back and chill vibe, but is also catchy as hell.
  6. Survivor – Destiny’s Child
    The ultimate anthem.
  7. DDU-DU DDU-DU – Blackpink
Another K-Pop song! This one actually has some Korean in it! Released in June, this was one of those songs that took the internet by storm. Everyone was listening to this song and watching the music video. And honestly, I get it. It’s so freaking catchy.

What are some of your favorite songs to blast?

These 7 songs will have you feeling great while moving and grooving. Perfect for a workout, work, or getting ready for a night out! #playlist #music #fitness #work
